How to Play Rocketcar Cup
Rocketcar Cup takes soccer, removes the players, and hands the job to cars with rockets strapped to them. Everything happens on a flat 2D pitch: you drive, you jump, you flip, and you try to knock the ball past whoever is defending the other net while stopping them doing the same to you. Boost is what makes it a sport rather than a shoving match: a well-timed burst launches you off the ground for an aerial touch, and the Hard Hit button turns your car into a battering ram when the ball has to go now. Matches run either as one-on-one duels or as team games, and the trophy goes to whoever handles the chaos best.
The controls take a minute to learn and much longer to trust. Anyone can drive at the ball; the skill is arriving facing the right way, at the right height, with boost left to finish the move. Flips let you reach shots that a grounded car simply cannot touch, which is where most of the highlight goals come from. The other half of the game is restraint: a car that has flung itself into a wild aerial is nowhere near its own goal for the next two seconds, and that gap is what a decent opponent waits for.
Tips to Score More Goals
- Spend boost on the ball, not on driving. Boost burned crossing an empty pitch is boost you lack for the touch that matters. Save it for contact and aerials.
- Hit the ball where you want it to go. Approach angle decides everything: line up so your car already points at the goal on impact, rather than smacking the ball sideways and hoping.
- Keep the Hard Hit for emergencies. It is your clearance button. When the ball is loose in front of your own net, a hard strike sends it far up the pitch and buys you time to reposition.
- Don’t commit both cars in a team match. Somebody has to stay goal-side. Let a teammate contest the ball while you hold the space behind them, then swap as play turns around.
